Do I need a prescription from a Doctor to do blood tests?
No. All tests can be undertaken without a doctor's prescription. You may just walk in to our lab and our pathologist will advise and guide you.
Shall I be covered by my insurance if I don't have a medical prescription from my Doctor?
No, to be covered by insurance, you will need a prescription together with a completed/stamped insurance form from your Doctor. We will also need to contact your insurance for their approval, prior to carrying out your tests.
Do we have to book an appointment?
No, you don't. You can just walk in. The lab is open from 08:00 till 10:00 pm, Saturdays to Thursdays. It is advisable though to call the lab to check whether you need to be fasting or not before your blood is drawn.
My mother is sick and homebound; can you send a phlebotomist to draw her blood sample at home?
Yes, we can. It is however necessary to call the lab at least 24 hours in advance to book an appointment. An additional fee for home service may apply.
When can I get my lab results?
Most results are available within 24 hours, often the same day.
Most of my test results are reported in numerical numbers? How do I know if my results are satisfactory?
Test results are often reported in numerical values and are compared to normal test results range. If results are outside that range, it may indicate illness or organ damage requiring medical treatment.
